Magnetic ballasts are where the horticulture industry began and are still used today, providing a reliable power supply and ignition to both HPS and MH bulbs on demand,
Built using copper wound transformers and large, start capacitors. These ballasts do offer more serviceability than their digital counterparts.
Just plug and play with either HPS or MH bulbs at a fixed 600watts output.
About as heavy as a boat anchor, take care when installing.
